Charm Bracelets

Charm bracelets traditionally hold a variety of memories in the shape of individual charms. The overall format has, for many generations, been a wrist-sized chain, with dangling charms attached. While this traditional approach remains, modern machining has made alternative approaches to charm bracelets possible, though less customizable for found-object charms.
The upper “traditional” charm bracelet belonged to my maternal grandmother. Her charms largely reflect her children and her travels as a nurse during WWII in her 20s. My mother’s charm bracelet, with the pink heart, has charms which reflect her travels from late high-school through college. Mine, the one not like the others, has charms focused around my middle-school interests.
