Beaded Necklace

This necklace was purchased in Hawaii by one of the long-time soprano members of my church choir. Every year, she and her husband (who sang bass in the choir) would spend a few weeks in Hawaii during February/March. They always came back less winter-pale than when they had left and with tales of beaches, flowers, and short-sleeve shirts.

When it was new, the beads of this necklace were gilt silver and gold. After many years of wear, they have faded some to brown and pewter. Age has done nothing to dull the memories associated with it, though!
