Woodland Gnome

When my mother was still working as a histotechnologist, she spent a long-ish period of time cat-sitting for one of her co-workers. When she returned from her trip, my mom’s co-worker brought back a knee-high woodland gnome lady as a thank-you gift. Mom stumbled across this little gnome several years later and bought it because it was so very cute! And went well with the woodland lady (who was re-cast as the woodland mother).

This gnomish pair has stuck with my mother through several moves, and has made their way around the basement and living room areas of the house since I was a child. They have camped out at the bottom of the stairs, near the library, on the brass-and-glass, and next to the Christmas Cactus. They currently keep a sharp eye on the world from the top of a bookshelf, next to an old carriage clock.
