Footprints in the Sand is a story about a man who dreamed he was walking along a beach with the Lord. When he looked behind him, he discovered their two sets of footprints sometimes became one. He asked, “God, why did you abandon me whenever my life was hard? God replied, “I never abandoned you. When times were hard—it was then that I carried you.”
This watch was a gift from one of the older members of my church choir, given to me when I was in seventh grade and had been sitting next to her on Sundays for two years. The watch face has two footprints pictured on it, and the box it was in contained a note referencing the footprints story. Several scratches, many batteries, and seven-ish watchbands later, it still faithfully keeps time. (Telling time, however, can be tricky for those unused to oblong analogue watch faces with only three numbers and a cross!)
