Ballerina Statue

My ballet instructor gave us ballet-related statuary for Christmas several times. I believe this statue is based off a Degas painting. If it isn’t, then it certainly should be. It has always reminded me of the tapestry hangings in the studio where I took ballet lessons for many years.
Dancing has given me many memories over the years: the organized chaos (and associated costume malfunctions) of backstage during recitals; how best to handle inconveniently placed blisters arising from new pointe shoes; general laughter and concentration during class; the ability to stretch pretty much any given muscle and wrap most joints….
